Thought I would take a minute from the being “TIGER-WOODED” post to share this with you. While surfing the net reading various news articles (because you know this world is really fucked up but nobody wants to admit it) feeding my mind and trying to get back on point after being setup. Once again I WAS WRONG for 2 things
1. Responding to the text messages the way I did
2. Lying & Leaving
Nothing has ever happened. I got too much respect for those folks to damage a friendship over sex. But we will pick that up later.

I came across an article titled “Former Bank of America Employee Explains Why She Was Fired” over at GATHER.COM and my heart went out to this young lady because she seemed to me like another innocent victim of the BIG CORPORATE SYSTEM. A young lady that was probably told “Stay in school” and rack up the degrees and you will land a good high paying job and live happily ever after. But was never told for every upside, there is a downside. Especially in BIG BUSINESS if you aren’t even in the pecking order. Check her story out:

So check it…on the YOUTUBE site where her video is were some other video responses to her video. But the one that really stood out and really brought it HOME & REAL at the same time was from a brother known as Wise Nubian. Now the thing I found so profound at his video response was not that he was dissing or shooting the young sister down but…HE WAS KEEPING IT REAL!!!

He was keeping it real by simply stating there is nothing wrong with having the expectation of the American Pie dream but the harsh reality is WE (blacks) were not included in that dream. He was keeping it REAL by simply stating there is nothing wrong with believing if you are good, honest, forthright and damn near perfect (which none of us are no matter how much we think we are…another blog) that no harm should come to you and you should be able to be financially secured for the rest of your life. But he was keeping it real by saying it doesn’t matter how hard you bust your ass on your job if you are not in the board room making the decisions, then you don’t mean jack!!! I will be one of many who feels what this brother is saying. See it is funny how WE get all caught up in this game just because we have the house, the car, the good salary, a nice 401K plan and all that. But anytime these financial institutions can take your money (which is not really yours to begin with) move it around, shake it around, pass it on, and then threaten you because you won’t pay back or fire you because you help someone who has no idea of the various ways to receive help through the supposed programs, then you really must be wearing blinders and have a stick coming out your butt.

I owe it to myself to post this because things are the way they are and what I have control over I do my best to maintain. But no matter how much I try to maintain the harsh reality is the plan that I have for myself is only a plan when it involves things like this from a financial stand-point. I have my name on a mortgage for a house and want to be able to pay it off in less than the time we took the loan out for. I get stressed like a motherfucker because I am only a temp on this job and don’t have the benefits to cover my family medically if something happens to one of them.

I barely make enough to help pay the mortgage, bills, buy food, and keep folk clothed and still have enough to get to & from work until next pay period. I may look like I am not hurting financially but just because I don’t talk about doesn’t mean jack…I AM IN IT!!!! And you know it is funny because my wife thinks she is the only one suffering right now. SHE KNOWS THAT’S BULLSHIT but because we have been raised on the JIM CROW laws what I think and feel does not matter.
