Yesterday I was sitting in the living room with my children & wife and my daughter mentioned a video she saw on youtube that was on a fight at a church. From all descriptions she made it sound like it was going to be something to laugh at. But when I saw it I was very disappointed for a lot of reasons. The biggest of all was the fact that a minister (no matter how human he/she is) swung on a parishioner and it was a woman. Not to mention the fact that is was from the denomination I just recently left. The AME denomination.
The church members decided it was right to have the locks changed on the minister because the church was losing members. And you know when you lose members you lose money. I understand having to have the funds to make sure the church is properly cared for but it seemed like a little more than that to me. I guess this is the reason people don’t go to church like they used to. I want to learn about the word of GOD not get caught up in the financial affairs of the church.
But when you take financial matters that NOT ALL MEMBERS should be involved in and put it in a public fourm like this video it put not only the church but also religion in a bad light. Take a look for yourself and be the judge.
